JC softball and baseball playoff information

Area softball playoffs

     Industrial Cobras (22-11-1, fourth seed) vs Natalia (16-10, three seed). Single game playoff, Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. in Floresville.

     The Cobras completely dominated a good Nixon-Smiley team, ten-run-ruling them in consecutive games in the Bi-District playoffs.

     Natalia put together a four run sixth inning to defeat Poth 7-6.

     Natalia has scored 195 and allowed 138 while Industrial has scored 195 and allowed 102.

     Both teams faced Nixon-Smiley and LaVernia. Natalia defeated NS 6-2. Industrial lost to LaVernia 8-1 while Natalia defeated them 9-7.

     The winner of this game will face the winner of Hallettsville (31-3) and Lytle (19-11-1).

    All four teams in Industrial’s district advanced to the second round.

    

     Ganado Maidens (27-6-2, three seed) vs Three Rivers (31-2, district champ). Best two-out-of-three series. Game one Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. in Ganado. Game two, Friday, May 5, at 6 p.m. in Three Rifvers, and game three, if necessary, will be in Cuero on Saturday, May 6, at 1 p.m.

     Last year the Maidens defeated Three Rivers 15-0 in the playoffs. This year the Bulldogs have an ace pitcher who Ganado did not face last year.

     The Maidens have scored 328 runs compared to 378 for TR. Ganado has allowed 98 runs compared to 69 for TR.

     Moulton was the only common opponent, and both teams run-ruled them.

     TR’s two losses came to Refugio and Aransas Pass.

     The winner of this game will face the winner of Shiner (25-5) and Kaufer (28-8-1).

     Every team in the Maiden’s district advanced to the second round.

     Schulenburg will face Refugio and Weimar will face La Villa. If they both win, they would meet in the next round.

Bi-District baseball playoffs 

    Ganado Indians (11-9, third seed) vs Sabinal (18-8-1, second seed). Best two-out-of -three series. Game one Friday at 7, game two Saturday at 3, Game three, if necessary will immediately follow game two. All games will be played at Clemens High School.

     Sabinal has scored 215 runs and allowed 123. I do not have complete stats for Ganado.

     The winner of this game will face the winner of Kenedy and Aqua Dulce.

 

     Industrial Cobras (15-7, third seed) vs San Antonio Cole (11-11, second seed).

     Single game playoff, Friday May 5, at 7 p.m. in Yoakum.

     Cole began their season losing their first eight out of nine games, so their record is better than it seems.

     Industrial has scored 181 runs and allowed 91 while Cole has scored 136 and allowed 157.

     The winner of this game will face the winner of Poth (19-7-1) and Cotulla (12-9) in the Area playoffs.
