District volleyball update

Edna will play at Industrial on Friday. With a win, Industrial would lock up the third playoff seed. The Cobras will finish the district schedule facing Hallettsville, Palacios, and then Columbus.

If Edna wins, that would pull them into a third place tie with the Cobras, with both teams having split their two district games. If Edna wins, that means, at worst, both schools could finish tied with Tidehaven for the final two playoff spots. However, Tidehaven faces Columbus on Friday, and unless Tidehaven pulls off a huge upset, both Industrial and Edna will clinch a playoff spot, and this game would just help determine third and fourth place.

Edna finishes their district schedule facing Yoakum, Tidehaven, and then Rice.

Yoakum still has a game against Columbus and Edna, meaning Edna and Industrial both still have a chance of catching Yoakum for second place.

The district schedule will become much clearer after the Friday games, and all the playoff contestants likely will be set.

The Ganado Maidens have had a rough start to district play, sitting at 0-6 (before the Friday night game.) The Maidens need to win out to have a chance at grabbing a playoff spot.
