Tommy Red Kinnett

Tommy Eugene “Red’ Kinnett 75, of Inez, passed away on Dec. 22, 2017 after fighting a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 11, 1942 to the late Max Cash and Ruth Cash in Corpus Christi.     He served in the United States Army from 1963-1965. He was a diesel mechanic for the majority of his life and retired from Inteplast after working there for nearly a decade. He loved to watch old westerns and spend time with his family and dogs.     He is preceded in death by his parents.     Tommy is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delores Sheffield Kinnett of Inez; daughter Lynnette Kinnett Smith (Tony) of Inez, and son Tommy Kinnett Jr. (Beth Barg) of Victoria. He was Papa to his three grandchildren, Taylor Smith, of Victoria, Kayley Smith of Ganado, and Collin Smith, of Inez; and great-grandson Weston Meyer.     He is also survived by his sibling’s sisters Peggy Fulton (Carl) and Hazel Hance (Richard) and brother James Kinnett (Gayle).     Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society and Harbor Hospice.     A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the Kinnett residence in Inez at noon on January 12.     Arrangements under the direction of Victoria Mortuary & Cremation Services, Inc., 361-578-4646.
