ROBIN DEWITT “BUSTER” BAUERLE

     On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Robin Dewitt Bauerle, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 91, at his home, surrounded by his loving children. Robin was born in Hammond, LA on Sunday, November 20, 1932.

     Robin served in U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. After serving in the Army, Robin attended Louisiana State University (LSU) where he received his Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1958. He worked for Exxon until his retirement in 1992.
     On September 17, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sonja Nelson in Ganado, Texas. After his retirement from Exxon they moved from Houston, Texas back to Ganado, Texas. Robin served on the Ganado Texas City Council for over fourteen years. May 23rd is recognized in Ganado as Robin Bauerle Day! He also served on the Board of Jackson County Wildlife Management Association for twenty years.
     Robin will always be remembered for his wisdom, generosity, and kindness he showed to all he knew. He truly was a remarkable man and our hero! Jennifer, John and Marcus wish to thank our sister Elizabeth and husband Bill Keller for their wonderful care of Dad for the past three and a half years since our mom, “SoSo” passed away. They have been a blessing to all of us.
     Robin was preceded in death by his wife, Sonja, father and mother, Mahlon and Thelma Bauerle, brother Gene Bauerle and twin sisters, Marjorie Baker and Margaret Gomez. He is survived by his loving children, Jennifer and her husband John Carpe’, Elizabeth and her husband Bill Keller, John Bauerle and his fiancée’, Stacy Ballard, and Marcus and his wife Debby Bauerle. Grandchildren; John and his wife Meagan Carpe’, Austin Carpe and his fiancée’ Katie, Bronson and his wife Hannah Keller, Tyler and his wife Elyse Bauerle, Justin Bauerle, Ryan Bauerle and his fiancée’ Lindsay, Easton Bauerle, Trace Bauerle and Torie Bauerle. Great Grandchildren; Isla Madrid, Kassie and Drake Baurele, River Johnson Ronnie Carpe’ and Hallie Carpe’ due in April 2024.
     Pallbearers: Clinton Tegeler, Shayne Rickaway, Marcus Teed Carlson, Nils Mauritz, David Grewe and Blake Petrash. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Schoenfield and Fred Rickaway.
     In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. James Lutheran Church or Hospice of South Texas.
     Services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 beginning at 1 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church with Pastor Rosemarie Doucette officiating, interment will follow at Ganado Cemetery.
