Robert “Bob” Joseph Gendke

     Robert “Bob” Joseph Gendke, Sr. 76, of Vanderbilt went to his forever home on Monday, December 20, 2021. Bob was born on Saturday, April 14, 1945, in Vanderbilt to Emil Gendke, Sr. and Bernice Gendke.

    Bob is survived by his loving family, his wife, Suzi Gendke, daughter, Amanda Gendke, son and daughter-in-law, Bobby, Jr and Tammy Gendke, his two grandchildren, Jack and Trevor Gendke, also his brother and sister-in-law, Emil, Jr. and Inez Gendke. Bob has been preceded in death by his parents and brother Herman Gendke.

    Bob was a warm and loving husband to his wife Suzi for 55 years. Battling Parkinson’s Disease since the age of 38, Bob is known for his grit and persistence. He never let life’s challenges get in his way. Being a cowboy was part of who he was.

    A life long rancher, Bob taught his children and several community kids the meaning of a hard day’s work. He used his passion forcowboying to bring the pro rodeo back to the Jackson County Fair. He alsoserved as a reserve deputy for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
