Kenneth Johnnie Sternadel

     Kenneth Johnnie Sternadel, age 76, of Ganado, earned his wings on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Kenneth was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1946 to Albert and Emma Sternadel in Ganado, Jackson County, Texas.

     Kenneth was a very proud Marine who served his country as a helicopter mechanic and gunner during the Vietnam War. After returning home from the Marines, he worked in the oilfield until he retired. Kenneth loved his family more than anything. He never met a stranger, and he loved picking on his loved ones. He was always a jokester and kept everyone entertained. He loved being outdoors and taking care of his cows. He was very proud of his longhorns. He loved going on mule rides with his dogs. If you couldn’t find him on his four-wheel mule, he was at his grandkid’s events. He was a very proud PoPo. “Butchie’s” legacy will live on forever.

     Kenneth is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Ann Sternadel, his daughter; Melissa Guthrie and her husband Mark, son; Adam Sternadel and his wife Aimee, his beloved grandchildren; Gillian Guthrie, Grayson Guthrie, Ashton Sternadel and Avalynne Sternadel, also his siblings; Lucille Janecka, Franklin Sternadel, Leonard Sternadel and his wife Dana, two brother’s- in-law, Paul Vesley and Joe Barker. He has been preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma Sternadel, his children; Sarah Sternadel and Patricia Sternadel, his brother-in-law; Melvin Janecka, and sister- in-law; Caroline Sternadel, sisters: Mildred

     Vesley and Joyce Barker, LaNell Blinka and her husband Johnnie. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Garret Griffith, Ashton Sternadel and Grayson Guthrie.

     Services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Assumption Catholic Church, beginning with Visitation from 9 am to 10 am, Rosary being recited at 9:30 am, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 am with Father Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 S. Third St., Ganado, Texas 77962, 361-771- 2120.
