John W. Deyton Sr.

    John W. Deyton, Sr., 67, of Lolita, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was born in Ganado on March 29, 1951, to Thelma Grace Veselka Deyton and the late Uranous Willard Deyton.     John worked for Petroleum Management Inc. from the 1970’s to the late 1980’s. After being laid off he opened Tuffy’s in Lolita. His love for law enforcement then led him to serve Jackson County as a Constable and Sheriff’s Deputy for 25 years. He also was a Deputy LaWard City Marshall, and a Ganado Patrol Officer. He was a member of the Lolita Vol. Fire Dept. and EMS in the late 1980’s. He worked for the JCWCID #1 in Lolita as a Water/WasteWater Operator. In his spare time, he would fish, hunt, and spend time with his family. John was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, brother, and great friend who will be dearly missed.       He is survived by his son, John W. Deyton, Jr. (Christy); mother, Thelma Grace Veselka Deyton; granddaughter, Brittany Yendrey (Justin); great granddaughter, Paityn Yendrey; sister, Patsy Rodgers (Norman); brother, Larry Wayne Deyton (Jane) and ex-wife Sandra Grahmann.     His father Uranous Willard Deyton preceded John in death.     Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, December 26, in the First Baptist Church of Lolita with Gary Thedford officiating. A meal will be provided following the memorial service.     Pallbearers will be Timmy Deyton, Kenny Goppert, Richard Koch, Johnny Henderson, Craig Repka, Justo Roman Sanchez;  Justin Yendrey, Jason McBride, Robert (Bob) Johnson  and Andy Davis. Honorary pallbearers are all Jackson County Law Enforcement officers.     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jackson County 100 Club, P.O. Box 246, LaWard, Texas  77970.     Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna 361-782-2221.
