James Koop Sr.

    James Koop Sr., 83, of Edna passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in Victoria. James was born on Sept. 21, 1934 in Koop Settlement, Jackson County, Texas to George Dietrich Koop and Caroline Kleim Koop.     James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Fitch Koop; his children, Tammy (Alan) Harvey, Sandy (Craig) Jackson, James E. Koop Jr. (Sheila) and Marcy Ward (David); their 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters Elnora Schubert, Pearl Symmank, and Norris Fitzpatrick; and brother George Koop.     He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Virgil, Ewald, and Walter Koop; sisters Alice Roberson, Juanita Browning, and Natalie Crawford.     There was a visitation on Friday, Sept. 14 at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Schroer officiating. Interment followed i the Salem Cemetery in Ezzell.     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Slavik Funeral Home, Edna. 361-782-2152.
