Harley Kenneth Spencer Jr. 

 

    On Monday, September 4, 2023, Harley Kenneth Spencer Jr., loving husband, father, brother and son, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 surrounded by family.

     Harley was born on February 15, 1945, in El Campo, Texas to Harley and Lucille Spencer. He lived in Ganado, Texas, and graduated from Ganado High School in 1963 where he was quite the athlete. He then went on to Wharton County Jr. College then Texas State Teachers College and finally finished his college career at the University of Houston.

     He started working at Texaco where is spent the next 29 years working as a Financial Analyst and later retired. While working at Texaco he met his wife Cynthia, the love of his life. They later went on to raise their three children in Cypress, Texas.

     Harley loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid gardener, storyteller and all-around jack of all trades. In retirement he found many hobbies including winemaking, cheese making, knife making, jerky, salsa and many other culinary endeavors.

     Harley is preceded in death by his parents Harley and Lucille as well as his brother Stanley. Harley is survived by his loving wife Cynthia of 48 years, his children Harley (wife Ashley), Jennifer, Jeremy (wife Karen), and his grandchildren Donovan, Riley, Claire, Ian, Ryan, and Colin. As well as his brother Rodney and sister Sheila (husband Bob).

     A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Klein Funeral Home – Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Klein, Texas 77379 on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 2pm.

     A reception will follow at Fairwood Recreation Center, 14701 Spring Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX, 77429 at 4pm.
