Charlene Newport Revel

     Charlene Newport Revel was born in Lolita, Texas on January 6, 1933, to the late Orville Mike Newport and Renie Meador Newport Denard.

      Charlene retired as Assistant Vice President of Citizens State Bank after 33 years. She served on the board of directors and as an Ambassador for the Jackson Co. Chamber of Commerce. She was also a past director of the Jackson County Hospital Board, and served as president of the ladies auxiliary to the V.F.W. Post 8556 in Lolita. She was a long-time member of American Legion in Ganado, and of the First Baptist Church of Edna.

     She is survived by her son, Michael Ray Revel (Patricia); two very special grandsons, Jason M. Revel and Cody D. Revel (Rachel); great-granddaughters, Kate and Kollins Revel.

     She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Ray Revel, Jr.; great-grandson, Wyatt Ray Revel; and her sister, Nancy L. Tipton.

     Pallbearers will be Glenn Martin, Gary Martin, Craig Yearwood, Clint Yearwood, Laddie Ellis, and Kenneth Land.

     Services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Edna, Texas. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna, Texas. Rev. Robert Krause will be officiating.
