Rayes “Ray” Rosalez, Jr

     Rayes “Ray” Rosalez, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the age of 65. He was born February 15, 1956, in Ganado, Texas to the late Reyes Rosalez, Sr. and Guadalupe Martinez Rosalez.

    Ray was a lifelong resident of Ganado, Texas. He graduated from Ganado High School in 1976. He worked as an Operator for Mobil Oil Offshore for 18 years before he retired. Ray enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, camping, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.

    He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Ray was a wonderful man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.

    Ray is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Hortencia “Tencha” Rosalez; sons, Joshua Rosalez and wife Cindy of Edna, Ray Rosalez III and wife Christa of Ganado, and Jason Rosalez and wife Meagan of Edna; sisters, Katy Alvarez of Ganado, Linda Ramirez, and husband Joe of La Ward, Ella Alvarez and husband Ignacio of Ganado, and Gloria Garcia of California; brothers, Alberto Rosalez of Ganado and Ricky Rosalez of Ganado; twelve grandchildren, Valyn Knebel, Joshua Rosalez Jr., Ashton Rosalez, Jacob Rosalez, Logan Rosalez, Emma Rosalez, Sophia Rosalez, Winston Rosalez, Jason Roalez Jr., Chassadie Zambrano, Emmaleigh Zambrano, and Bryton Rosalez; one great-grandson, Kyle Wainwright. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Deleon; and brother, Johnny Rosalez.

    Pallbearers will be Pete Aaron Alvarez, Alex Alvarez, Jr., Tim Alvarez, Joshua Rosalez, Jr., Caleb Hinton, Mary Lee Walleck, Ross Rosalez, and Andrew Alvarez.

    Honorary Pallbearers will be Ashton Rosalez, Jacob Rosalez, Logan Rosalez, and Bryton Rosalez.

    Visitation was held on Monday, June 28, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, also in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel, With Pastor Mary Garcia will be officiating. Burial following in the Ganado City Cemetery in Ganado, Texas.
