Stadium will be ready for first home football game

When the Ganado Independent School District started taking bids for the new construction of the schools, one of the main stipulations was that the schools be com- pleted and ready for use by the first day of the 2018 school year. For every day the new portions of the school are not opened, the school district gets a monetary reimbursement, but the delay goes well beyond a few days.

“They are still running behind,” Rusty Wallace, Ganado onsite manager of Owners Building Resource said. “The elementary school is at least three months behind and the secondary school is even further behind.”

Last school year when construction began, students were shuffled around to accommodate the construction. Because of the construction delay, the same thing will happen this year, however some areas of the old school have already been torn down.
