Janica returns to county service

    “It feels kind of like going home.”

    Kelly Janica, former Jackson County Sheriff, is back at the Jackson County courthouse. Early Monday morning, he and Judge Jill Sklar met as he began his new position as Emergency Management Coordinator for the county.     Janica replaces Allen Friedrich who retired at the end of December.

    The part time EOC position is a good fit for Janica, who has served in public safety for most of his life.

    “I’ve always been involved in public service and it all just meshed together,” he said.
