IISD board hears request for memorial to Bobby Nicholson

During the public comment portion of the March 7 meeting of the Industrial ISD Board of Trustees, those who worked with former Superintendent Bobby Nicholson advocated for the board to do something in his memory.

Nicholson, who passed away at the age of 76 on Feb. 19, was an educator at Industrial for much of his long career, first as a coach and athletic director, then as a principal, and finally, as superintendent. David Rives, who worked with Nicholson in the 1970s and Coach Mike Treybig both addressed the board on the subject.

Since it was not an agenda item, the board took no action.
