Stay cool calm and collected

Chloe Darilek said “I’m sorry” to her fellow Cobras and coach when one of her serves didn’t go over the net during the game against St. Joseph, and the senior isn’t prone to many mistakes.

Her killer attitude is consistent, precise and Darilek is always watching the ball. Always.

The Cobras won a nondistrict volleyball game against the Flyers, 3-0, but you couldn’t tell by watching: both teams played like it was the playoffs.

“We knew this would be our last game at a high level, and we needed that sort of motivation when we face harder teams in the playoffs,” Darilek said. “But we also needed this mentality going into district too, and step on their throats and just crush them.”

The Cobras won the first game easy, 25-12, but they nearly lost the second game, giving them an opportunity to show themselves and their fans what they were really made of. Industrial was down 22-19, and Brooke Williams stepped up with a kill to make the game 22-20.
