Industrial Cobras Fly Past St. Joseph

By Kassidy Biggs and Annie Simnacher

The Industrial Homecoming game was a success, pulling out a win of 49-18 last Friday against St. Joseph Flyers.

The game started with St. Joe in possession of the ball, but shortly after their first down, Cobra Colin Long intercepted the ball and brought it back to the 48-yard line. This allowed Cobras Karston Wimberly and Blayne Moreland to pick up enough yardage for the Cobra’s first down of the night.

An illegal procedure was called on the Cobras, moving the ball back, but soon after Moreland struggled 24 yards into the endzone while carrying three Flyers on his back. The two point conversion was completed by Derrick Cann, making the score 8-0.

Cann then teed the ball up which led the Cobras to exercise their defense, but it didn’t last long when the Cobras recovered the ball and a completed pass to Gowetski left it at first and ten for the Cobras.

Because of an incomplete pass to Kie’andre Kelly, the Flyers gained possession of the ball but soon after called a timeout. Following, the Flyers turned over the ball due to downs.
