Cobras get first district win
By Michael Brooks
After opening district against state ranked Yoakum and Goliad, and holding them in the first half before falling, the Industrial Cobras took their frustration out on the Luling Eagles with a 49-6 victory.
The win puts the Cobras right back in the hunt for a playoff position.
Industrial put together 539 yards of total offense, while only allowing 115 yards.
The Cobras started out a little slow but then exploded halfway through the second quarter. Holding a 14-0 lead with six minutes left until half, Industrial quickly put up two more touchdowns to grab a 28-0 halftime lead. In the third quarter, the Cobras put the game away by increasing their lead to 49-0. Luling did get in the end zone in the fourth quarter but by that point, Industrial already had the game well in hand.
Karston Wimberley passed for 235 yards and a touchdown pass. Blayne Moreland led the way on the ground with 180 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Michael Williams added two touchdowns and Cole Brogger had one.
