Willie "Bill" Janecek

Willie “Bill” Janecek     Willie “Bill” Janecek, 94, pased away March 29, 2018. He was born January 13, 1924 in Sugar Land, Texas to Louise and race (Kuzel) Janecek.     Bill married the love of his life Irene Mikusek on Oct. 14, 1952. He proudly served his country in the Army in Company C 300th Combat Engineers Battalion from Feb. 18, 1943 to Nov. 11, 1945. He was awarded the following: Purple Heart, World War II Victory Medal, Expert Marksmanship Badge, Am Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. He was an active member in the Ganado American Legion Post 346, A life member of the VFW and a member of the SPJST.     Bill was a long time carpenter and had a boat storage business for 33 years. He enjoyed playing dominoes with friends, dancing, traveling to music shows in Branson and Eureka Springs, hunting, fishing, gardening and sharing vegetables with friends.     Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene, a son Lawrence Janecek, and numerous nieces and nephews.     He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Lorraine (Christ) Quebe.     Visitation is Monday, April 2, from 5-7 with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Ganado Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 3 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado with Rev. Kirby Hlavaty officiating.     Pallbearers are Ronnie Crist, Jeremy Crist, David Christ, Frankie Gallia, Josh Gallia, and Henry Sulak Jr.     Military honors will be provided by Ganado American Legion Post 346 in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery.     Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of the Ganado Funeral Home, 361-7c71-2120.
