Marcella Ruth Ramsbacher

Marcella Ruth (Feist) Ramsbacher lost her battle to cancer the morning of June 28, 2019.  Her soul is with her Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus. Her body is waiting for Our Savior’s second coming when her body will be raised from the dead and joined with her soul to live for eternity in the new heaven and earth.     On April 1, 1931, Marcella was born to Joe and Ruth Feist at the family farm near Velva, ND.  She was baptized and confirmed at Oak Valley Lutheran Church in Velva. In 1949 Marcella graduated from high school as Valedictorian of her class. She married Richard “Joe” Ramsbacher Dec 15, 1952.          They moved to Bismarck, ND and began a life of travel, living in Pierre, S.D.; Coalville, Utah; Collbran, Colo.; Dillion, Mont.; El Jebel, Colo.; Riverdale, N.D.; and finally Edna, Texas in 1976, where she made her home for the next 43 years.     In Edna she worked at the Parent Action for Learning  center with EISD.  She volunteered at Helping Hands of Jackson County where she eventually became the Executive Director and Executive Administrator, a position she held for approximately 30 years.       She also managed  Friendly Acres (Oak Creek) Retirement Village. Marcella was awarded Humanitarian of the Year in 1995 and Citizen of the year in 2009.  Due to health she was forced to retire at the end of 2018.     Marcella was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 43 years.     She is survived by her children, Richard (Kay) Ramsbacher of Strafford, Mo., Nancy Quinn of Edna, Scott Ramsbacher of Forney, Texas, and John (Lisa) of Appleton, Minn.; by her grandchildren: Amanda (Damian) Edwards of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Shawn Quinn of Edna, Janet (Andrew) Jones of Skidmore, Texas, Katy Ramsbacher of Tomball, Texas, Aimee, Joseph and Aiden Ramsbacher of Appleton, Minn.; and by her great-grandchildren: Dawson, Kaydance, and Jonah Jones of Skidmore,  and Everly and Patrick Edwards of Wahiawa, Hawaii.     Marcella is also survived by her sisters, Phyllis Kriese of Lander, Wyo. and Ramona Cain of North Las Vegas, Nev.; by her brothers: Neal (Virginia) Feist of Velva, N.D., Eugene (Mary) Feist of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Donavan (Annette) Feist of St. George, Utah, and Curtis (Bonnie) Feist of Velva, N.D. and by many nieces and nephews.     Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10,  in the St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Edna, with the Interment to follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna, Rev. Paul M. Kaiser will be officiating.       In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 108 East Gayle St., Edna, Texas 77957, or Helping Hands of Jackson County, 324 East Main St, Edna, Tx 77957.     Pallbearers will be Andrew Jones, Shawn Quinn, Jim Ebeltoft, Kevin McDonald, Ray Born, and Al Miska.             Honorary pallbearers are Damian Edwards, Helping Hands Board Members and Volunteers, Friendly Acres (Oak Creek) Board Members, and Joseph and Aiden Ramsbacher.     Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. 782-2221.
