Louise Spann Pyle

It is with great sadness that the family of Louise Spann Pyle, loving mother and grandmother, age 96, of Palestine, Texas passed peacefully on Jan. 16, 2019.  Louise, previously of Liberty City (near Kilgore), was a resident of TruCare Nursing Center in Palestine.  She was born on Aug. 15, 1922, to George Dewey and Letha Spann.       In March of 1940, Louise married Roy E. Pyle. Together they moved to Edna in 1952 and then to Vanderbilt in 1953, where they raised their family and were members of Vanderbilt Baptist Church.  Louise supported her children in their school activities, as well as being active with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.       Following Roy’s death in 1971, Louise moved to Huntsville where she was the property manager of an apartment complex. In 1975, Louise relocated to Austin and was employed for 18 years as property manager and event coordinator at Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs. Her years in Austin were rewarding and she developed numerous lasting friendships. Upon her retirement, she moved to Kilgore.  Louise was dedicated to her church in Liberty City and enjoyed many years of fellowship with family and friends.       Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Jackie; infant daughter, Gloria Ann; infant great-grandson, Austin; son-in-law, Del Chapman; daughter-in-law, Jodi; sister, Betty and brother-in-law Kenneth Robertson; and brother, Rayburn Spann and sister-in-law, Josephine.     Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Suzanne Chapman of Arlington; son John and wife, Betty of Era; son Bob and wife, LaKaye of Palestine; son Scott and wife, Veronica of Palestine; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Bernice Spann of Wilmore, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.     Louise’s greatest joy was her family.  She will be remembered for her deep commitment to her children and grandchildren and for her gentleness, kindness and soft-spoken manner.     Louise’s children wish to express our gratefulness to TruCare Nursing Home in Palestine for the tender, loving care given to our Mom.     Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Kilgore, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan.19 at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, with burial following services at Kilgore Cemetery.     Please leave online condolences www.raderfuneralhome.com
