Joan Dobie Healey

     Joan Dobie Healey, 88 of Rockport, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, February 11, 1932 to William Henry and Nina Dobie.

    The family soon moved to Rose City, Michigan and began working on their farm. Joan went to work at the local IGA grocery store where she met and fell in love with the store owner's son, Ray Healey. After graduating from Rose City High School, she and Ray were married and later moved to Bay City to raise their family.

    Joan is survived by the love of her life "Ray" Raymond Healey; her children, Bob and Mary Healey from Bandera, Texas, Bill and Sue Healey from Lupton, Michigan, Debbie and Russell Todish from Edna; and Rick and Karen Healey from Rockport, Texas; her nine grandchildren, Kim and Byron Ratliff, Shawn and Raquel Healey, Jeff and Sarah Healey, John and Terri Healey, Tonya and DuWayne Dunn, Chara and Terry Tipp, Chelsea Healey, Lindsay and Matt Jarrett, and Allison Healey; her 19 great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Marissa, Clayton, Bryan, Keegan, Ayden, Jaxon, Josh, Hayden, McKenzie, Tucker, Dixon, Alisa, Amelia, Ethan, Matthew, Callie, Chase, and Eva. Also her nieces and nephews, Darra, Cindy, Mike, Johnny, Scott, Judy, Angie, Sandy, Dale, Todd and Michelle.

    Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Dorothy and her husband John Lutke from Michigan, Gwen and her husband Carroll Reid from Michigan; her brothers, Carl "Butch" Dobie, Bill and his wife Pauline Dobie from Houston; also her nephew, Mike; brother-in-law Derek and sister-in-law Georgia.

    There will be a Celebration of Life service on Wednesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. at Ganado Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Schroer officiating, inurnment will take place at a later date in Rose City, Michigan.

    Services have been entrusted to her son-in-law, Russell Todish of Ganado and Slavik Funeral Homes, 361-771-2120.
