Jo Ann Jansky

    Jo Ann Jansky, of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 after complications from a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and listening to the 2020 Democrat debates. She was born in Edna on February 4, 1941, to the late William Tarver and Lula Mae Yendrey. Jo Ann met the love of her life & 3 months later, she and Leon were married on October 28, 1958. Together they had three daughters, Rhonda, “Le Ann” and Vickie.

    Jo Ann loved helping and taking care of her husband. She was often helping him in the hay fields or tending cattle, she was never afraid to get her hands dirty. Every Sunday you would find her next to Leon at Morales Baptist Church. Jo Ann had a few hobbies that she loved, most were spoiling her grandchildren and watching them grow along with planting azaleas in her yard, making wonderful hot meals and hosting family get togethers at her home every holiday.

    Jo Ann is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Treadwell of Kyle and Vickie Hopkins of Inez; granddaughters, Whitney Treadwell of Edna, and Megan Luchak of New Braunfels; grandson, Collin Hopkins of Katy; nephews Steven of San Antonio an Lonnie Jansky of Ezzell; and three great-grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Leon Jansky, daughter, Angela Leann Jansky, sister, Wanda Tangorra, brother, Freddie Tarver, and grandson, Mason Hopkins.

    “We will always cherish the memories and the love you gave us; you were the best grandmother a granddaughter could have ever wished for and this isn't goodbye, just a see you later.” Love you always, Whitney and Megan.

    A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Morales Baptist Church.     In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Jackson County Happy Tails Animal Shelter, 1787 US Highway 59 N., Edna TX, 77957. Headstone fund donations may also be sent to Oaklawn Funeral Home.
