Harry S. Hendry, Jr.

     Harry S. Hendry, Jr., of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the age of 80. He was born in Galveston, Texas on October 5, 1940, to the late Harry S. Hendry and Edna Mae Hendry.

    Harry is a retired pipefitter for Alcoa. He served his country in the United States Marines.

    Harry had a deep love for music. He was a great musician who played in a bluegrass band named The Bluegrass Wranglers. He was an amazing banjo player who also played the bass, mandolin, and guitar.

    Harry loved animals large and small. He enjoyed having donkeys, feeding birds, and taking his hound dogs coon hunting all night.

    Harry had the best sense of humor and could make anybody laugh! His family will greatly miss the times spent talking and laughing with him. Harry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

    Harry is survived by his loving wife, Betty Hendry; grandchildren, Brianna and Colby Hendry; daughter- in-law, Cinde Brandt Hendry; and nephew, Michael Mulburger.

    He is also survived by his beloved furry companions, Rosco and Jed.

    He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Wesley Hendry; daughter, Carlene Hendry; and sister, Patsy Mulburger.

    Pallbearers were Colby Hendry, Tracker Conn, Davey Conn, Michael Malone, Blaine Joines, and Clarence Joines.

    Visitation was held on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas. Graveside funeral services were held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 10:00 am, in Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita, Texas. Reverend Gary Thedford officiated.
