Endrika Barnes

     In Ganado, Texas on June 18, 1965, God entrusted Loyal Stafford and Estelle Barnes with a beautiful gift, whom they would name Endrika Marie Barnes also known as “Reek”. Reek grew up and attended public school in Edna, Texas where she was an accomplished athlete and received many awards. She went on to attend Wharton Junior College in Wharton, Texas.

    She leaves to mourn her departure her two daughters, Shewanna Barnes of Houston, TX and Sha’Ray Runnels of Pearland, TX; and her only son Kamray Runnels of Belton, TX. She also leaves behind two brothers James Taylor of Missouri City, TX, Christopher Barnes (Amy) of Arlington, TX, and two sisters Josephine (Ann) Barnes Parlor of San Antonio, TX, and LaFay Barnes of Houston, TX. She was also blessed to have three grandchildren whom she spent countless hours devoting her life to; Khaliyl Barnes, Zion Harris, and Braylen Harris. Reek leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

    Endrika was preceded in death by her parents, Loyal Stafford and Estelle Barnes, her grandparents, Major “Jim” Barnes and Lexie Haynes Barnes, and her siblings, Creston Parlor, Robert Parlor and her sister Betty Mackey.

    Her homegoing service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 604 M L King Dr. Edna, 77957. Burial to follow at Chase Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, Sept. 24 at Cook Butler Funeral Home, 316 Peabody St in Edna, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
