Creston Parlor

    Creston Delton Parlor, age 59, passed away Feb. 28, 2020.  He was born on July 23, 1960 to Estell Barnes and Cornelius Parlor in Edna, Texas, Jackson County. He was raised in Edna, Texas and graduated from Edna High School in 1979. He was an accomplished basketball player and received many awards. Creston was employed by Celadon Trucking.     Creston was a loving father, brother and nephew, cousin and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Creston enjoyed basketball, pool, dominoes and time spent with friends. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, sense of adventure and devotion to family.     Creston is preceded in death by his mother, Estell Barnes, father, Cornelius Parlor, brothers, Cornelius Parlor, Jr., Robert Parlor, Burney Allen, Sr., sister, Edith Adams and paternal and maternal grandparents.     Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Veloria Watts (Raeford), sisters, Josephine (Ann) Parlor, LaFay Barnes, Endrika Barnes, brothers, Rev. Christopher Barnes (Amy) and James Taylor, grandchildren, Raeford Watts, Jr., Taylor Watts and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.     Visitation was held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hwy 111 North, Edna.  Interment followed at 1 p.m. at Sayles Cemetery, Edna.     Serving as pallbearers were, Burney Allen Jr., Cornelius Norman, Randy Dilworth, Floyd Allen, Kamray Runnells, Khalil Barnes, James Matthew Robinson, Reggie Caesar, Raeford Watts, Sr. and Ervin Edwards.  Honorary pallbearers were Felton Hopes, Sr., Alfred (Blood) Barnes, Tommy Barnes, Alonzo Hunt, Cliff Barnes, Austin Sparks, Ivan Marshall, Sr., O’Neal Ramey and Jamie Woods.
