Andrew Wittkamp Young

    Andrew Wittkamp Young, 43, of Edna, died August 16, 2021.

    Andy is a native longtime resident of Savannah, GA. He was born October 1, 1977 to Louis Calvin Young Jr. and Catherine Wittkamp Young. He was a graduate of Paul Anderson Youth Home in Vidalia, GA. and a former volunteer fire fighter with Bryan County Fire Department.

    In addition to his parents, Andy leaves behind his wife, Amanda Rae Young, unborn child and daughter Addison Leaman-Young, all of Edna, two brothers, Louis Calvin Young III “Trey” (Rebecca) and Matthew Allen Young, two sisters, Mary Amanda Young and Ashton Langley Young all of Savannah, GA., parents-in-law Joe and Carol Henson of Edna, numerous nieces, nephews, and family and friends.

    A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church in Savannah, GA.

    A birthday/celebration of life will be held in Edna on Saturday, October 2.

    Andy loves his family, friends, UGA football, animals of all kinds, fishing with his father-in-law, family game nights, smoking on the grill, working in retail and so much more. The UGA football traditions will be continued and carried on by his wife and daughter. Andy’s ultimate goal was to return to Paul Anderson Youth Home, join the staff, and give back what he could. Then retire in the North Georgia Mountains with his wife and attend UGA football games.
