James Dean Coleman, 26, of Edna, Texas, took the hand of Jesus and was wrapped in the arms of our Heavenly Father on May 18, 2026. James was born on November 13, 1999, in Victoria Texas to Johnny James Coleman and Donna Hubenak Coleman. James leaves behind a memory that will be cherished with love, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James graduated from Edna High School. He loved his home, his animals and watching his cartoon videos that consisted of Blues Clues, Barney, Dora, and Signing Times. His home was his sanctuary of love and laughter and was his favorite place to be.

James is survived by his Father Johnny Coleman, his Mother Donna Coleman (Kucera) and Stepfather Jason Kucera who took loving care of James due to his special needs. He is also survived by his Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Leslie Hubenak, and cousins, Heather, Brynlee and Brock Hawkins, Uncle Charles and Aunt Sandra Coleman and cousins, Collin Coleman (Avery) and Eleni Coleman.

James is proceeded in death by his grandparents Fred and Charlene Hubenak, Buster and Wanda Finke and CD Coleman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Hubenak, Ryan Hessong, Tristan Kucera, Obie Garcia, Collin Coleman, Bill Hessong, Kenneth Hadley, and Willie Chandler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Hadley, Melissa Hadley, Vicki Hessong, Heather Hawkins, Brock Hawkins, Brynlee Hawkins, Georgie Templin, Bryce Wilfert, Ivan Sanchez, Darrin Elledge, Zoe Carrier, Kari Nelson, Monica Guerra, Kaylynn Adame, Stephanie Cavazos, Benny De Los Santos, Norma Alanz, Amber Lopez, Staff of Hospice of South Texas, Staff of Jackson County Hospital, Jackson County Medical Clinic, Jackson County Hospital District EMS, and the Staff of DeTar ER, DeTar 3rd Floor, DeTar Surgery Department, Dr. Deke Eberhard, Dr.

Jared Mitchell, Dr. Jeremy George, Dr. Avery Acker, Carrie Anderson, FNP-C, and the late Dana Knowlton, FNP-C. Visitation will be held Monday, May 25, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service honoring James’ life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Larry Green and Pastor Ruben Castillo officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna, Texas. A reception lunch and celebration of James’ life will follow burial at Venue 33, 170 FM 1593, Ganado Texas 77962, with a catered meal BBQ prepared by Jack Halliburton with Jack’s Drive in Deli & Catering.

In lieu of flowers memorials my be donated in James’s name to Hospice of South Texas, 605 East Locust, Victoria, Texas 77901, Memory Gardens of Edna, 1300 North Kleas St., Edna, Texas 77957, Lumpy Lizard Rescue in Edna, 115 West Jay St., Edna, Texas 77957, and Triumph Learning Center, 501 Rose St., Edna, Texas 77957.
