He was a member of First Baptist Church Edna.
Joe valued his family.
His life revolved around serving the Lord and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was happiest when all of his kids were together celebrating holidays and milestones.
Joe was very passionate about his devotion to the Lord by serving in the mission field with his church. His most important mission field was his family and children.
Joe loved to read and his favorite topic was history. He also loved conversation and would talk to people everywhere he went. He was a hard worker and businessman. Joe’s first job was delivering papers for the Victoria Advocate when he was ten years old. He started his business, Luna & Sons Roofing Co., with his father in 1987. Together they serviced Victoria County and the Crossroads area.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Olivia; daughter Vanessa Pyle (Kenny) of Edna, son Joe Dominick Luna IV (Angie) of Houston, daughter Valerie Luna (Kennon) of Edna & daughter Marissa Silver (Daniel) of Lafayette, LA; grandsons Jacob, Emmett & Aaron Pyle, granddaughters Juliana, Layla & Camila Silver.
He is also survived by sisters Grace Parnell (James) of Humble, Oralia Tristan (Mike) of Victoria, Mariselda Garcia (Oscar) of Houston, and brother John Luna of Victoria; numerous nieces, nephews, & brothers and sisters-inlaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service took place on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Oaklawn, starting at 10 a.m., with Reverend Robert Krause officiating. Burial followed at San Jose Cemetery in Bloomington, TX at 2 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Kenny Pyle, Daniel Silver, Kennon Logan, Ely Guillen, Eddie Granados, Tristan Tomas, Jacob Pyle & Emmett Pyle.
Honorary pallbearers: grandchildren Aaron, Juliana, Layla & Camila.
Flowers may be delivered to Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Edna Missions Ministry, PO Box 417, Edna, Texas 77957.
