Nicole Massicotte

June 9, 1942 — March 1, 2026

Nicole Massicotte Nelson of Edna, TX, passed away at home under hospice care surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 83.

She was born on June 9, 1942, in Montréal, Canada, to the late Jean‑Louis Massicotte and Florence Leblanc Massicotte.

Nicole was the beloved wife of Dr. Richard Nelson for 63 years and managed his medical practice when the family moved to Edna in 1981. Their love began in childhood in Montréal and grew into a life rooted in friendship, respect, and devotion. Richard remained faithfully by her side, caring for her with the same tenderness that defined their marriage.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Nicole centered her life around the family. Deeply rooted in French-Canada Québec, she especially cherished summers at her cottage in Saint-Adolphe-

d’Howard, surrounded

by nature, laughter, and family traditions.

Independent and adventurous, Nicole inspired others with her courage and spirit. She encouraged her children to explore the world, loved traveling with her family, and embraced life with joy. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed.

Nicole is survived by her husband, Richard, her loving children: Sylvie Nelson (Kurt Munson), Marie-France Nelson (Harald Pilo), and Martin Nelson (Tonja Rudel); her grandchildren Christian Nelson (Daniella), Stefan Pilo, Mathieu Nelson (Lexi), Isabelle Pilo, Gisèle Munson, Maci Nelson, and Ian Munson; and her great‑grandchildren River and Hallie Nelson.
