Robert Wayne Curlee, Sr., of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born in Edna, Texas, on September 6, 1938, to the late Thomas and Lucile Estell Thames Curlee.

Robert retired from Dupont after 38 years as an electrical technician. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and traveling. Bobby had a green thumb and loved tending to his garden. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always put family first. He will be remembered as being very mechanically inclined and had a true passion for tinkering and always enjoyed lending a helping hand.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Berta Charleen Reeves Curlee; sons, Robert Curlee, Jr. (Debbie) and David Bryan Curlee; sisters, Katherine Curlee and Glenda Kovar (Paul); brothers, Tom Curlee and David Curlee (Sandra); sister in laws, Sandra Poole, Johnnie Byerly (Jerry), and Nancy Koop (Robert). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Clayton Curlee, Ashley Jones (Darvis), David Bryan Curlee, Jr., Dyllan Curlee; great-grandchildren, Devin Jones, Aiden Jones, and Aria Jones; along with numerous nieces, nephews and close family friend Billie Hyden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Stewart; father-in-law, JZ Reeves; mother-in-law, Isla Mae

Rhea Reeves; sister-inlaw, Nancy Curlee; brother in laws, Roger Poole and Woodrow “Shorty” Stewart; nephews Matthew Carson, Jay Carson, and Jay Curlee.

The family of Robert will receive visitors for a time of remembrance on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel in Edna, Texas, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
