Georgie Ann (Kovar) Kruse

Georgie Ann (Kovar) Kruse

Georgie Ann (Kovar) Kruse, Mrs. Kruse to many, and lovingly known as “Teti” to family and close friends, gained her angel wings on January 2, 2026, after a long battle with strokes that left her immobile and greatly limited her ability to communicate.
She was a life-long educator and faithful servant who shared her gifts through teaching, church ministry, and countless quiet acts of love. For 44 years, she faithfully served students, families, and colleagues with patience, wisdom, and a deep love for learning, leaving an enduring mark on every classroom she entered.
All 44 teaching years
were dedicated to Ganado
that education was more than lessons or textbooks— it was about shaping character, encouraging curiosity, and helping each child recognize their own potential. Generations of students carry forward the impact of her dedication, kindness, and steady guidance.
Beyond her years in the classroom, Georgie was deeply committed to her faith and her church family at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. She generously served as a CCD teacher for many years, sharing her faith and gently leading young hearts closer to Jesus.
Her servant’s heart was further reflected through her involvement with Catholic Daughters, where she faithfully coordinated desserts for fish fries, co-chaired parish feast raffle, organized the school supply drive, and lovingly organized the Angel Tree each Christmas.
In addition, Georgie was an active member of the Matthew 25 Ministry, where for many years she helped gather and prepare food boxes for members of the community, quietly ensuring that others were cared for and supported. She was also member of KJZT (Catholic Family Fraternal of Texas) supporting community projects.
In her spare time, Georgie was an avid reader, loved word puzzles, crossword puzzles, sudoku puzzles, TV game shows such as Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She believed in keeping the mind sharp.
Her legacy of faith, service, and compassion will never be forgotten.
Georgie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Kruse, (who she deeply missed) as well as her brothers-in-law: Daniel Kocian, Benny Sulak, and James Marek. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Kocian, Emelia Sulak, and Margaret Marek, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply. Though Georgie never had children of her own, she embraced her nieces and nephews as family, loving them as if they were her own and taking great pride in each of their lives.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of South Texas for their unwavering support and care over the past two years. The family would like to commend the nursing staff at Ganado Nursing and Rehab Center and their PT staff for the care they provided while she was in their care. Georgie had several personal sitters, and close friends, who were instrumental in sharing their love and compassion for her while she was unable to care for herself. The caregivers at Grow in Grace in Ganado showed exceptional kindness and dedication, treating Georgie…and all residents…with the same love they would give their own family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Ganado, Texas. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 12:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. Burial following at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
