Shirley Rouse Moehrig, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cherished friend to many, has passed to her heavenly home November 16, 2025.

Shirley Rouse Moehrig December 3, 1932 - November 16, 2025

Born December 3,1932, in San Antonio, Tx to Harlan James Rouse and Gladys Auge Rouse Jackson. Graduate of Burbank High School, Class of 1950.

She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone until she married Elkhart Moehrig Jr. They were married on May 4, 1951, at Dutt Chapel in Fort Meade Maryland.

They had 63 wonderful years of marriage until he passed in July of 2014.

They had three sons: James (Diane Moehrig Hartl) Moehrig, Charles Scott (Diana) and Jeffrey (Naomi). There are seven grandchildren: Jamie (Chris) Hedrick, Barry Moehrig, Jacob (Kaylyn) Moehrig, Jenny (Clay) Green, Bradley (Kim) Moehrig, Jeffrey (Sarah) Moehrig, Marley (Aaron) O’Donnell, Todd Childers.

There are 12 great grandchildren: Chris and Kendall Hedrick, Kade, Kallen and Karter Moehrig, Luke and Andrew Green, Chloe and Brody Moehrig, Wyatt and Evie Moehrig and Walker O’Donnell.

Brother, Charles (Sandra) Rouse. She was a great Nana, calling herself Nana Banana and always wanting to make fun memories.

She was a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) while living in Yorktown where she served as Regent for four years. She was involved with the Lutheran Church in each town she resided in: Yorktown, Victoria and Ganado. She served on the council for St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado as well.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Elkhart (Moe) Moehrig Jr; parents and grandparents Albert and May Auge of San Antonio and Yakima Washington; stepfather, Stuart Jackson; son, James Moehrig; and sister-inlaw, Charlene Forster.

Pallbearers are Barry Moehrig, Bradley Moehrig, Jeffrey Alan Moehrig, Jacob Moehrig, Clay Green, Chris Hedrick, and Aaron O’Donnell. Honorary Pallbearers are David Bailey, Jimmy Krueger, Larry Somer, and John Wright.

A visitation was held Monday, November 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel. Funeral services was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Yorktown. Interment followed at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
