Linda was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, Nana, friend, and teacher. Her life was filled with love, purpose, and generosity. Family was the cornerstone of her world, and she especially treasured the Christmas season, bringing joy to others through thoughtful gifts and family traditions.
An avid traveler, Linda enjoyed exploring the world with family and friends alike. She had a deep love for learning, which she shared throughout
August 3, 1947 — May 23, 2025
her distinguished career in education. She spent many years teaching in Edna ISD and Fort Bend ISD, leaving a lasting impression on countless students and colleagues.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Eunice Golden, her sister Carolyn Eaton and brother-in-law Jimmy Eaton.
Linda leaves behind: her sisters, Brenda Macek (Marvin) and Marilyn Cerrillo (Roy); her children, Donnie Slatter Jr. (Shana) and their children Derek, Reagan and Riley; Darrell Slatter (Ann Marie) and their children Darren and Sarah; and Dana Slatter Mesa (Carlos) and their children Caleb and Cristen.
Linda’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her love and service.

A graveside memorial service is scheduled to be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Hallettsville, Texas, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. The cemetery is located at 1648 FM 340, Hallettsville, TX 77964.
