Richard was born on November 3 1947.

He lived most of his life in Victoria and Ganado, Texas. He loved his family, his friends, and his entire church community in Ganado dearly.

Richard adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the Blanco football field to watch his grandsons Tate and Griffin play Panther Football and in Dripping Springs to watch Lily play softball. Richard loved hunting, playing dominoes, and he played a mean game of cards.

Richard always had a

smile on his face, a black lab by his side, an apple pie to be eaten, and a joke to be shared. He will be greatly missed.

Richard is preceded in death by his son, John.

Richard is survived by the mother of his children Germaine Wearden of Floresville Texas; Quinn Wearden of Austin, Texas; PJ Wearden and his wife, Jennifer Baker, of Wimberley, Texas, their children Tate Baker (his wife Christen) of Navasota, Texas, and Griffin Wearden of Wimberley, Texas; James Wearden and his wife Amy of Driftwood Texas and their daughter Lily.

The schedule for services is as follows: Saturday, May 3, 2025, Rosary at 10am at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Victoria Tx immediately followed by the funeral mass.

Luncheon will be held after Mass at the St Mary’s Hall (Please feel free to bring a desert to share) Internment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ganado or to any pet rescue as Richard loved both his church and his animals.
