Beverly Williams

Beverly Jane Williams was born on May 23, 1943 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family, on February 2, 2018.     Beverly met the love of her life, Ken Williams, and they spent 49 amazing years raising five loving children and creating a lifetime of cherished memories.     Beverly’s interests included cooking (she was an incredible cook), shopping (she was quite the fashionsita), junking with Shera Kucera (they were the queens of overloaded trucks and bungee cords), traveling (she and Ken made all 50 states, Canada, and Europe), reading (she couldn’t resist a good story), and decorating (her unique, personal style and love for décor inspired a successful business that she cherished for over 20 years).     Beverly will always be remembered as a mom who loved unconditionally, dispensing tough love when needed, even if it meant being hurt by its application – but hey, it worked.  She always had an easy smile and a warm hug for everyone; even if she just met them (hugs were Beverly’s thing). She was also a firm believer in giving “strokes,” compliments, because she felt “everyone needed a boost now and then,” and to her, “shoes, haircut – matters not, but sincere caring does.”  And that was our Beverly.     Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Ken N. Williams; children, Scott Williams (Cherry), Steve Austin (Kristin), Kevin Williams (Mary), Jeff Williams, and Jennifer Kirkpatrick (Craig); eleven grandchildren; Taylor Abney, Brittany Patino, Jade Bryniarski, Stephanie Williams, Cassidy Williams, Brandi Gayle, Jeffrey Green, Sophie Williams, Emma Wiegand, Neil Wiegand, Brooke Kirkpatrick, and Taylor Kirkpatrick; three great-grandchildren; Kylie Green, Landon Green, and Wyatt Gayle; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.     Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 5-7 p.m., in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Edna Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Edna.     Pallbearers will be Scott Williams, Steve Austin, Kevin Williams, Jeff Williams, Neil Wiegand, and Craig Kirkpatrick. Honorary pallbearers are Ted Fowler and Bryant Stone.     In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas, Dornburg Center of Compassion, 1005 Mallette Drive, Victoria, TX 77904 or donor’s choice.     Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna. 361-782-2221.
