Ganado ISD students each received a Student of the Month award for November, during the Ganado Board of Trustees meeting on Nov. 15.

Third grader, Noah Cortez,  was awarded student of the month from the Ganado Elementary School.  The Ganado High School presented Rylie Ferguson, an eleventh grader, with a student of the month award. Eighth grade student Michael Bubela, who was not present, received an award from the Ganado Junior High School.

Rusty Wallace of Owners Building Resource, LLC, addressed the board and discussed the current status of the Ganado Elementary School.

“I anticipate the elementary site substantial completion date will be around spring break. We will tentatively have furniture scheduled for delivery and installation the first week of February. The plan is to move the students over during spring break,” he said.

“The brick work is approximately 60% complete and  is on-going. Weather has hampered the brick work more than any other trade on site. The electrical and plumbing rough-in is also on-going. The second floor wall insulation and second side of drywall is almost complete. Installation has begun for the window frames and glass. Based on my estimate, I believe it will be finished before summer.
