FINALLY!

    “It’s about stinking time.”

    Industrial volleyball player Maddison Heibel said what every Cobra volleyball player and fan had to have been thinking about the Goliad Tiger volleyball team after the Cobras walked away with a victory that sent them to the State tournament.

    When you know you have a great team, and the playoffs begin, you look at the playoff bracket and you see who all has a chance to end your playoff run. When you see the team that won state the past two years, you know if you meet up, you are going to have a real fight on your hands. For the Industrial Cobras volleyball team, that opponent is Goliad. The Tigers knocked Industrial out of the playoffs in the Regional Final round the last two years, on their way to a state title, and three years ago in the Regional Quarterfinal Round, and the year before that in the Bi-District round.

    Industrial took out all of their frustration for the last four Cobras teams that came through as they swept the Tiger in three sets, including a final set 25-8 victory that finally put the Cobras over the hump.
