Jackson County Emergency Management announced that they are implementing a new system for emergency communication with the public on June 4, replacing the existing Jackson County Mobile App.
The new notification system, called CodeRED, is a “state-of-the-art emergency notification system designed to keep residents informed and safe during critical situations.”
“CodeRED allows citizens to receive timely alerts on emergencies, severe weather, road closures, missing persons, and other important public safety notifications,” Emergency Management said in a post on their Facebook page. “Residents can create and account and customize their alert preferences, choosing from various communication methods, including phone calls, text messages, emails, TTY and mobile app notifications.”
The system is free to use and can be accessed online at accountportal.onsolve. net/JacksonCountyTXCodeRED. The link is also available on the Jackson County Texas Emergency Management Facebook page.
“We’re committed to ensuring that Jackson County residents have ac- cess to reliable and timely emergency information,” said Lane Larson, Director of Emergency Communications. “By signing up for CodeRED, citizens can stay informed and make better decisions to protect themselves and their families. In addition to CodeRED, we will continue using social media to share critical updates. CodeRED will replace the Jackson County Mobile App as our primary emergency notification system.”
