On April 23, Ganado Police Officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of the US Hwy 59 S. feeder road, in reference to a reckless driver. Upon arrival, Officers located the driver who was identified as Mario Lara-Guerrero, 21, of Richmond, Virginia. During an on-scene investigation, Guerrero’s vehicle was searched. Inside the vehicle, Officers located marijuana along with three handguns.
After questioning, Officers suspected Guerrero was possibly taking the handguns to Mexico. Guerrero was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces, a Class B Misdemeanor and for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor. Guerrero was booked into the Jackson County Jail. This incident was referred to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) On May 5, Ganado Police Officers responded to a business in the 100 block of W. Mauritz Ave. in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, Officers located the subject who was identified as Ramiro Rosillo, 65, of Louise. Officers determined Rosillo was intoxicated and subsequently placed him under arrest for Public Intoxication, a Class C Misdemeanor.
Rosillo was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
On May 15, Ganado Police Officers received a report of a possible intoxicated motorist at a business in the 200 block of S. Third St. Officers later located the motorist and identified him as Mario Angel Palacios, 31, of Ganado.
Upon conducting a roadside investigation, Officers gained probable cause to believe Palacios was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated w/ Previous Convictions, a Third-Degree Felony. Officers also located marijuana inside Palacios’s vehicle. Palacios was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana less than two ounces, a Class B Misdemeanor.
Palacios was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
On May 18, Ganado Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a speeding violation on US Hwy 59 N. near County Road 256. The vehicle did not yield to officers, and a pursuit ensued. Officers pursued the vehicle into Wharton County, where it turned around before El Campo and began driving back towards Jackson County. Officers were able to deflate the vehicle’s tires, and the driver surrendered shortly thereafter on County Road 319 in Louise. Altogether the pursuit spanned approximately 24 miles.
The driver was identified as Lance Wilson Bob Jr., 22, of Houston. Inside the vehicle officers located a handgun. Bob was charged with Evading Arrest or Detention w/ a Vehicle, a Third-Degree Felony, and for Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor. Bob was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
