Jackson County Vals and Sals

Valedictorians and salutatorians have been named and high school graduation dates are upcoming for the county. The top students will be recognized at the graduation ceremonies.

Edna High School’s graduation will be on Friday, May 23, starting at 8 p.m., and will be held at Cowboy Memorial Stadium, as long as the weather permits. If not, it will be held in the auditori - um. Baccalaureate services will be on Wednesday, May 21, starting at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.

Ganado High School seniors will be receiving di - plomas on Friday, May 23 at Indian Stadium, starting at 7:30 p.m. Baccalaureate services were on Sunday, May 18 at the First Meth - odist Church, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Industrial High School had their graduation on May 16 at the Cobra Pride football stadium. Their baccalaureate services happened on May 11.

The valedictorian for EHS is Zoe Rojas, with a grade point average of 5.50. She is the daughter of An - thony and Christina Rojas, and plans to attend Texas State University to major in healthcare administration.

Salutatorian Baylee Orozco will graduate with a grade point average of 5.41. She is the daughter of Christian and Nicole Orozco, and plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station and major in business administration.

The valedictorian for GHS is Kara Tupa, and will graduate with a grade point average of 4.52343. She is the daughter of Jeff and Faye Tupa, and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin to major in biology.

Salutatorian Hannah Gonzalez graduates with a grade point average of 4.33125. She is the daugh - ter of Sarah and Manuel Gonzalez, and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin and major in kinesiology and health.

IHS valedictorian Autumn Kallus graduated with a 114.73 grade point average. She is the daugh - ter of Russell and Heather Kallus and plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to study engineering.

Salutatorian Kaylee Coo - per graduated with a 113.12 grade point average. She is the daughter of Rachel Baker and plans to major in biology at Rice University.
