With three games remaining in the regular season, the Industrial Cobras baseball team needed one win to lock up a playoff spot. However, they fell into a slump at the wrong time and fell into a tie for the final playoff spot with Yoakum.
Then the Cobras turned it on, winning the tie-breaker game 5-1 to move to the Bi-District round where they faced Poth. Both games were low-scoring, with Industrial bringing just enough offense to pick up a 3-2 and 4-1 victory to move on to round two.
Industrial will face Lytle in the Area playoff round.
The Ganado Indians opened game one of the Bi-District playoffs with a 10 run rule victory over Refugio. They followed that up with a 5-2 victory in game two and now will be moving on to the Area playoffs, where they will face Three Rivers in Sinton.
Game one will be Thursday, May 8, at 5, with game two to follow 30 minutes after game one. Game three, if needed, will be played on Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m.
