Game one of the Area playoff series between the Ganado Maidens and Three Rivers started off with things going in the wrong direction for Ganado as sloppy defense brought in four top-ofthe- first-runs to begin the game. But then, the Maidens showed their determination as they stormed back to score five runs of their own in the bottom of the first.
From there Ganado took care of business as they increased their lead until they built a 14-4 lead to grab a run-rule victory.
Game two was a pitchers duel, with Saylor Bures allowing only 2 hits, as the Maidens scratched out 3 runs to win the series and move on to round three.
The Maidens will face Thorndale in the Regional Semi-Finals in Columbus. Game one will be on Thursday, May 8 at 6:30, with game two on Friday, May 9, at 5, and game three, if necessary, will be played on Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m.
