• On March 21, Ganado police officers responded to a business in the 300 block of N. Third St. in reference to a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival it was discovered that a subject identified as Raymond Marvin Ellison III, 26, of Ganado, had shoplifted multiple items of merchandise from the store.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Ellison had prior convictions for Theft. A warrant was subsequently issued for Ellison’s arrest on the charge of Theft < $100 w/ Previous Conviction, a Class B Misdemeanor.
Ellison was later located and arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail on March 25.
• On March 21, Ganado police officers responded to US Hwy 59 S. in reference to a reckless driver entering Ganado. The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop was made.
The driver was identified as Darla Yvette Gilthorpe, 40, of Houston. After conducting a roadside investigation, officers gained probable cause to believe Gilthorpe had been operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. She was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on the charge of Driving While Intoxicated - 1st Offense, a Class B Misdemeanor.
• On March 30, Ganado police officers, along with deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted multiple undercover stings on businesses to make sure they weren’t selling tobacco or e-cigarettes to minors.
Ganado officers and sheriff’s deputies were able to determine a business in the 1000 block of S. Third St. had sold an e-cigarette to a minor. The business additionally sold a device which was determined to be a drug test falsification device. The clerk who sold the device was identified as Jennifer Lynn Thaxton, 44, of Ganado. A warrant was subsequently issued for Thaxton on the charge of Poss. w/ Intent to Manufacture or Deliver a Drug Test Falsification Device, a Class A Misdemeanor. Thaxton was booked into the Jackson County Jail on April 4.
• On April 1, Ganado police officers gained information that a person with an outstanding warrant was at a residence in the 1700 block of S. Third St. The person was located and identified as Jeanette Marie Bookwalter, 31, of Ganado. Ganado officers were able to confirm that Bookwalter had a warrant through the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office for Violation of Probation, Original Charge: Poss. CS PG 1/1-B >= 4G < 200G, a 2nd Degree Felony. Bookwalter was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on her outstanding warrant.
• On April 8, Ganado police officers responded to US Hwy 59 N. in reference to a three vehicle accident. While conducting the crash investiga- tion, officers discovered a passenger of one of the vehicles had an outstanding warrant through Val Verde County for Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon (Handgun). The passenger was identified as Mateo Munoz Wilburn, 29, of Kingwood. Wilburn was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on his outstanding warrant.
• On April 16, Ganado officers gained information that a person with an outstanding warrant was at a residence in the 600 block of N. Third St. The person was located and identified as Forest Steve Renfro, 67, of Ganado. Officers were able to confirm Renfro had a warrant through the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office for Driving While Intoxicated / Open Alch Container - Surety of Bond, a Class B Misdemeanor. Renfro was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on his outstanding warrant.
• On April 10, Ganado police officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of US Hwy 59 S. Feeder Rd. in reference to a suspicious person. Officers located the subject nude inside the women’s restroom. The subject was identified as Henry Alberto Aleman, 19, of Tomball TX. While officers had Aleman detained, he fled on foot, resulting in a short pursuit. Aleman was apprehended and placed under arrest. After being apprehended, officers discovered Aleman was in possession of what was suspected to be a controlled substance listed under Penalty Group 2. Aleman was taken to the Jackson County Jail and booked on charges of Evading Arrest or Detention, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Poss. CS PG 2 < 1G, a State Jail Felony.
• On April 22, Ganado police officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of S. Third St. for a traffic violation. After identifying the occupants, Officers discovered the front seat passenger, identified as Allen Shane Davis, 50, of Athens, had an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation. Davis was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Jackson County Jail on his outstanding warrant.
