The Ganado Maidens entered the playoffs with a bang, defeating Refugio 16-0 in both game one and game two of the Bi-District playoffs.
Before that, they knocked off Tidehaven 7-4 in a warm-up playoff game.
The Maidens (24-5-1) will face Three Rivers (26-4-1) in the Area playoff round. The best two-out-ofthree series will be played in Sinton. Game one will be Thursday, May 1, at 6 p.m. with game two being Friday at 6 p.m. and game three to follow game two, if necessary.
Ganado knocked Three Rivers out of the playoffs in 2022 and 2023.
Three Rivers enters the game ranked outside the top 25 while the Maidens currently sit at 5th.
Three Rivers has scored 339 runs while Ganado has scored 302. Three Rivers has allowed only 54 runs compared to 68 for the Maidens.
The winner of this game will face the winner of Thorndale (ranked 9th, 17-5) and Danbury (ranked 24th, 20-6-1) Regional Semi-Final round.
