• On January 26, around 1 a.m, a business in the 1000 block of S. Third St. was broken into and burglarized. The burglar stole a large quantity of tobacco and e-cigarette products and fled in a getaway car parked down the street. The suspect has not been identified.

• On January 29, around 7:30 p.m, Ganado Police stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of S. Third St.
The driver of the vehicle was identified and found to have two outstanding warrants for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1. The driver, Allen Michael Arriaga, 35, of Ganado, was taken into custody and booked into the Jackson County Jail on his outstanding warrants.
• On January 31, around 11:30 a.m., the Ganado Police Department received a report which involved an ex-boyfriend disseminating inappropriate pictures of an ex-girlfriend to multiple people. The incident was investigated and resulted in the ex-boyfriend being charged with Unlawful Disclosure or Promotion of Intimate Visual Material. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail on February 13th and released the same day.
• On February 2, around 8:20 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of S. Third for an equipment violation.
During the stop, officers obtained probable cause to search the vehicle.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered what was suspected to be a controlled substance listed under Penalty Group 2. Officers seized the contraband, and charges against the driver are pending until lab results of the substance is obtained.
• On February 8, around 11:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 200 block of S.
Third St. for a moving violation. The vehicle did not stop, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit lasted approximately 10 miles, and ended in Wharton County, north of Louise on US Hwy 59. Upon conducting an on-scene investigation, it was discovered that the driver had fled under duress due to a backseat passenger holding them at gunpoint. This passenger was identified as Evan Matthew Garza, 36, of Houston. Garza was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into the Jackson County Jail.
• On February 9, around 8:40 p.m., officers received a report of a vehicle burglary in the 300 block of N. Fourth St.
The victim reported their wallet had been stolen from inside the vehicle.
Police have not identified a suspect.
On February 11, around 10:30 a.m., a subject came to the Ganado Police Department claiming to be a victim of Fraud. It was discovered the subject had been scammed over the phone by an unknown person claiming to be “Microsoft Tech Support.” The caller claimed the victim’s computer and bank account had been hacked.
The caller was able to scam the victim out of approximately $8,000.
