Although Edna ISD administrative offices will be officially closed for business during the first full week of the month, the district is planning several student events during summer break in July.
Members of the local FFA chapter are joining other student chapter leaders and state officers from across Texas at the 98th annual Texas FFA State Convention, scheduled July 6-10 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. Watch for more in our upcoming coverage.
The three-day summer cheer camp at Edna Junior High will wrap up on the final day of the event as this week’s newspaper is published. The camp runs July 6-8.
The following week will feature a two-day youth volleyball camp July 13-14 and a twoday youth football camp July 14-15.
Local students also will attend the summer YOUth LEADership Conference, scheduled July 13-15, and summer athletic workouts begin four days a week, Monday through Thursday, starting July 13.
All offices and campuses are closed on Fridays throughout July, except during the final week of the month, when the district hosts its annual two-day youth cheer camp at the EHS Dome Gym from 8-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 30, and noon to 6 p.m. Friday, July 31.
Lastly, the local school board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, July 20, at the EISD Administration Building.
