The Lavaca-Navidad River Authority held their 23rd Annual Water Conservation Poster Contest for sixth grade students in Jackson County. Patrick Brzozowski, P.E., General Manager of LNRA stated that LNRA encourages everyone to learn all they can to better manage, conserve and protect our most valuable resource – Water.
The theme of the contest was Water Conservation. “Water Conservation” means to protect water quality by keeping water clean from sediment, chemicals, oil and livestock wastes; to protect water quantity by using smaller amounts; to use and manage water wisely now to ensure good water quality for future generations.
The posters were original works by the students and could be on any phase of water conservation. There were 211 posters entered. Participation ribbons were presented to all students entering the contest.
