A Jackson County woman has been arrested after a second infant died in her care, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Jasmine Jalomo is charged with Manslaughter, a second-degree felony, after an investigation that began in October of 2025.
According to an October 3, 2025 social media post by JCSO, around 4:40 p.m. that afternoon, first responders were dispatched to a private residence on County Road 131, for a report of an infant who was unresponsive. Despite life-saving attempts by EMS, the child was declared dead at Jackson County Hospital.
On May 16, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on their Facebook page.
“Investigators with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Texas Rangers, the Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Department of Family and Protective Services, have continued their investigation into the death of the infant that occurred on October 3, 2025,” the post read. “As a result of the investigation, sufficient probable cause was obtained to issue an arrest warrant for Jasmine Jalomo for the offense of Manslaughter.
