The Edna Police Department hosted a Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, May 9, to help teach children bicycle safety.
Participating children received education on hand signals and other safety measures and best practices, and were given bicycle helmets.
Participants won awards for top three best decorated bikes, and for completing the rodeo course successfully.
Edna Police Chief Kenny Pyle and Sgt.
James Baker said that in addition to EPD, HEB, Sonic, the Jackson County Hospital District, The Ganado Police Department, and first Baptist Church Edna all contributed to make the event a success.
Another bicycle rodeo is planned for the fall in Ganado.
