Crates to Create Contentment

Retired educators learned a long time ago that teamwork is essential to any successful venture. When folks come together, there is a beginning – while keeping together we make progress, and all working together produces success. Such will be achieved by the local chapter of Jackson County Retired School Personnel when they meet on April 20, 2026, to fill Appreciation Crates to be delivered to all Jackson County active school personnel for their enjoyment.

Each attending member at the 11a.m. session at the Texana Community Education Center, 344 Park Rd 2, is asked to supply bags of goodies for later distribution to those weary school folks who will soon be winding down another education year. A surprise snack will energize and delight those hard-working individuals who are improving lives through their efforts – thanks is a most appropriate word!

Additionally, Superintendents from Industrial ISD, Ganado ISD and Edna ISD will be available for interaction while also providing details about each district’s achievements. Be sure to RSVP for the catered luncheon to Kathy Johnson (361-781-4004) by April 16. Leading the pledges and providing an invocation will be Missy Cervenka and Carrie Baker, respectively.

Hosting the “lure of the lake” gathering will be Theresa Martin-Parsons, Elida Benavides, Alice Figirova, Estelle Granberry, Kathleen Hermes, Gene Kallus, Stacey Kotler, Kathy Kuchler, Pat Parsons, Nancy Simons, and Rose Williams.

“Don’t forget, a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.” Hope to have a grateful crowd on April 20.
